The Department of Passports says it will open its online application system for e-passports from 11 am every day from now onwards.
Up to now, the system would open only after 4:30 pm.
Obtaining a passport has remained a big hassle for ordinary Nepalis thanks to the government’s inefficiency in preparing infrastructure sufficient to manage the big crowd. Whereas the online system does not work well, applicants need to go to the office to give their biometric data and obtain the document.
