One thousand traffic violation cases reported in Kathmandu every day

Kathmandu, April 7

At least 1,000 cases of traffic violation are reported in Kathmandu valley, every day, data from the traffic police shows.

Most of the cases involve lane violation, hapazard parking, driving under influence and driving without a license.

According to police, reported cases have also increased because police have stepped up viglance on the road and taken a no-tolerance policy.

A traffic ticket in Kathmandu costs from Rs 500-Rs 5,000. Violators also need to attend a class on traffic rules.
