Kathmandu, May 14

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli took the oath of office and secrecy from President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday afternoon.

Oli, who had lost the premiership on Monday after failing to secure the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives, was reappointed on Thursday after the opposition parties also could not form an alternative majority coalition.

Meanwhile, he inducted members of his old cabinet as ministers into the new cabinet also.

Oli was expected to include some leaders from the Madhav Kumar Nepal-led faction into the government, he did not do so. Sources close to him say Oli will reshuffle the cabinet after convincing the Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal also to join the government.

The new ministers were also sworn-in at the same function today.
