No force can stop UML in Madhesh: Nepal

Bardibas, September 10

At at time when Madhesh-based parties are portraying the UML as the main obstacle to amending the constitution to meet their demands, Madhav Kumar Nepal says no force can prevent his party from entering Madhesh.

Nepal, who claims to be a ‘son of the soil’ of Madhesh, also tried to assuage concerns among voters who head to polls on September 18 that the UML was against addressing their demands related to the constitution. Talking to mediapersons in Bardibas, Mahottari, Nepal said, “Our party is in no way against the Madheshis people. Just you watch, the UML will emerge as the number one party in Madhesh.”

Nepal accused the Madheshi parties of coming under the influence of foreign powers to demand an amendment to the constitution. On the internal rift within his party, leader Nepal said his party was united ahead of the key elections. “We are in the electoral battleground, the party stands united,” he added.
