Kathmandu, February 3
A newborn has gone missing from the Narayani sub-regional hospital complex, police said.
The baby of Asha Devi of Chhapkaiya-1, Birgunj, went missing from the hospital complex at around 10.40 am, according to Parsa district police office.
According to DSP Chakra Raj Joshi, accompanied with her mother-in-law, Ashadevi had reached the hospital in the morning. Sometime after giving birth to the baby, Asha Devi left the hospital to buy some goods by handing over the newborn to a woman. When she returned, the baby and the woman were gone.
The baby’s family is to blame for this incident to some extent, police said. An investigation is on, police said.
