NEPSE: Stock market rose 24 points reaching 1998

On Monday, the NEPSE index of the stock market increased by 24 points. After the increase of that number, NEPSE has remained at 1998 points. The transaction amount has also increased along with NEPSE. The turnover of Rs 3.15 billion the previous day was Rs 3.40 billion today. While the value of 148 companies increased, 85 decreased while 11 remained stable.

On Monday, most of the commercial banks announced the reduction of interest rates for May. That also helped the market to grow.

On this day, the market was boosted by the banking group itself. The banking sector index increased the most by 3.2 per cent. Similarly, the investment group increased by 2 per cent. Based on points, banking increased by 32, development banks by 12, hydropower by 13, life insurance by 50, microfinance by 30 and other groups by 14.

However, Trade decreased by 8 points, non-life insurance by 3, manufacturing by 6, hotel and tourism by 22 and finance group by 4 points. The price of five companies increased by 10 per cent. Narayani Development Bank, Samaj Microfinance, Mandu Hydropower, Shrejansheel Microfinance and Himalaya Energy Development increased by 10 per cent. The value of Gurans Laguvitta increased by 9.7 per cent, CEDB Hydropower by 7.6 per cent, Kumari Bank by 6.2 per cent, Asha Laguvitta by 6 per cent and Machhapuchhre Bank by 5.7 per cent.
