Kathmandu, May 30
The stock market fell by 19.89 points on the last trading day of the week, bringing the NEPSE index down to 2069 points. A total of Rs 4.21 billion was traded throughout the day, compared to a turnover of Rs 4.57 billion the previous day.
On this day, the hotel and tourism sector fell the most, by 2.5 per cent. Similarly, the banking sector decreased by 1.72 per cent, development banks by 0.97 per cent, investment by 1.17 per cent, life insurance by 1.13 per cent, microfinance by 1.96 per cent, non-life insurance by 1.07 per cent, others by 0.81 per cent, and business by 0.33 per cent. However, the production sector index increased by 1.23 per cent, hydropower by 0.49 per cent, and the finance sector by 0.15 per cent.
The prices of Nepal Finance, Upper Lahore Khola, Bhagwati Hydropower, and Manakamana Engineering Hydropower increased by 10 per cent. Unilever’s price increased by 9.50 per cent, Green Ventures by 6.9 per cent, and Supermadhi Hydropower by 6 per cent.
The value of Pokhara Finance decreased by 10 per cent. The prices of Kalinchok Darshan and Barahi Hydropower decreased by 6.7 per cent, and Nepal Warehousing by 5.9 per cent. Based on the transaction amount, Nepal Finance, Ngadi Group, Janaki Finance, CEDB Hydropar, and Kalinchok Darshan were the top performers respectively.
