NEPSE index rises to 2,775 points, trading volume declines

The NEPSE index gained 17.80 points on Tuesday, closing at 2,775 points. Despite the increase in the index, the daily trading volume fell significantly, with transactions totaling Rs 8.52 billion compared to Rs 10.54 billion the previous day.

Out of the traded companies, 142 saw an increase in their share prices, 97 declined, and five remained unchanged. Sector-wise, Finance (1.39%), Hydropower (1.85%), Life Insurance (1.52%), Manufacturing (0.06%), Trading (5.96%), and Others (0.27%) posted gains. Conversely, Banking (-0.19%), Development Banks (-0.37%), Hotels and Tourism (-1.71%), Investment (-0.41%), Microfinance (-0.32%), and Non-life Insurance (-0.52%) recorded losses.

Four hydropower companies witnessed a 10% surge in their share prices: Dibyashwari Hydropower, Ingwa Hydropower, Khanikhola Hydropower, and Joshi Hydropower. Additionally, Ngadi Group Power gained 8.6%, Shivashree Hydro increased by 8.1%, and Chhyangdi Hydro rose by 7.3%.

Meanwhile, the stock price of Bishal Bazaar Company, which had been climbing by 10% in recent sessions, rose by 6.4% on this day, reaching NPR 7,015 per share.

On the downside, Upper Syange Hydropower fell by 9.5%, Janaki Finance dropped 6.1%, and Guras Laghubitta declined by 3.4%.

In terms of trading volume, Ngadi Group, Janaki Finance, NRN Infrastructure, Best Finance, and NIC Asia Bank led the market.
