Kathmandu, June 12

The NEPSE index continued its upward trend for the third consecutive trading day, rising by 6.37 points (0.30 per cent) on Wednesday to close at 2121.62. The trading volume also increased, reaching approximately Rs 6 billion, up from Rs 5.49 billion on Monday.

Key transactions included NRN Infrastructure and Development Company (Rs 276.4 million), CEDB Hydropower Development Company (Rs 244.8 million), and Greenlife Hydropower Company (Rs 199.5 million).

While the finance, banking, and microfinance sectors saw gains, corrections occurred in the hydropower, non-life insurance, trade, and hotel and tourism sectors. The hydropower sub-index, which had risen for four consecutive days, fell by 0.61 per cent due to trader manipulation and limited share supply.

Out of 247 listed companies, 119 saw their share prices rise, 115 fell, and 13 remained unchanged. Notable gainers included Samriddhi Finance and Mid Solu Hydropower Company, each up by 10 per cent. On the other hand, Sapatri Hydropower shares fell by 4.48 per cent.
