Nepal’s former king Gyanendra Shah has attended the wedding reception of President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s Daughter Nisha Kusum, at the President’s residence, Shital Niwas.
Shah, who has been making scathing remarks against major political parties, went to the reception, greeted the newly-weds and spent sometime sipping tea with former royalists, a source present at the event told Onlinekhabar.
According to a source, Shah said that the palace was also the venue for his own wedding, decades ago. However, Shah left within 20 minutes. He did not talk to President Bhandari, who is the widow of communist stalwart Madan, but just exchanged pleasantries.
