Nepalis’ average height sixth shortest in the world: American research

A recent research project carried out by an American organisation has found that Nepal belongs to the bottom 10 countries in the world in terms of the average height of the people.

The World Population Review has put Nepal in the sixth position from the bottom in terms of average height. It says Nepalis are 64.17 inch (1.63 metre) tall on average.  This measurement is higher than the average heights of Indonesians, Bolivians, Filipinos, Vietnamese, and Cambodians only.

The average height of Nepali men is 163 cm whereas that of Nepali women is 150.8 cm. Nepali women are third shortest women in the world.

Other countries from the bottom 10 list are Ecuador, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Peru.

The top 10 list has European countries only. According to the research, the Netherlands is the ‘tallest’ country in the world, followed by Montenegro, Denmark, Norway, Serbia, Germany, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Luxemburg.
