Nepali Congress: Will support legal action against Alam

The main opposition Nepali Congress has clarified that his party will support legal action that its leader Mohammad Aftab Alam will face. The suspended lawmaker is currently facing three criminal charges at Rautahat District Court.

The party’s response comes four days after the court sent him to judicial custody till the final verdict.

Speaking at a press meet organised at the party’s central office in Sanepa today, the party’s spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said his party was committed to the implementation of the country’s law, adding the party was clear about it since the hearing began.

“We have been saying that we will support any action taken as per the law.”
