Nepali Congress sister wings tell President to enact ordinance

Kathmandu, December 25

Various sister organisations of Nepali Congress on Monday urged President Bidya Devi Bhandari to enact the National Assembly ordinance at the earliest.

Leaders of Nepal Women’s Association, Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Students Union, Nepal Press Union, Democratic Lawyers Association and Nepal Dalits Association organised a press meet in Kathmandu today to urge head of the state to endorse the ordinance sent by the government.

Speaking at the meet, Women’s  Association President Uma Regmi said the would launch a stern protest if the request was not heeded.

The organisation accused the President of trying to breach the constitution by ignoring the government’s decision.

Earlier on Sunday, the party’s student wing launched a street protest against the President putting forth the same demand.
