The vice-president of Nepali Congress Nawalparasi West district committee, Subas Chandra Giri, has died of Covid-19 on Tuesday morning. He was 38.
Giri died while undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital in the capital this morning, informs Nepali Congress lawmaker Devendra Raj Kandel. Giri was referred to Patan Hospital from the Covid-19 hospital in Butwal last Friday. He was put on a ventilator, but he had difficulties in breathing since 11 pm yesterday, according to Kandel.
Giri had undergone a gallbladder surgery at Bhairahawa-based Universal Medical College some weeks ago. He had experienced shortness of breath and pneumonia. Later, he was found infected with the coronavirus.
Meanwhile, three other Covid-19 patients died in Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Dhulikhel this morning.
