The ongoing central working committee meeting of the main opposition Nepali Congress could not resume at the scheduled time on Wednesday.

Though the meeting call called for 1 pm today, it was postponed after two factions of the party failed to forge an agreement on various issues.

Since the meeting began last week, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s arch-rival Ram Chandra Paudel and his supporters have been boycotting the meeting demanding that the party discuss a plan for the 14th general convention immediately.

Then, the Paudel faction held a separate meeting and formed a team under the command of Prakash Man Singh to hold talks with the leadership. Deuba also assigned his deputy Bimalendra Nidhi to negotiate with the faction.

Though the two sides have met frequently, they have not forged an agreement, hence the meeting got postponed indefinitely.
