Nepali Congress cadres vandalise Nepal-India border pillar in Kanchanpur

A Nepal-India border pillar is vandalised in Kanchanpur, in March 2020.

Kanchanpur, March 15

Local leaders and cadres of the Nepali Congress have vandalised a Nepal-India border pillar installed in Beldandi rural municipality-3 of Kanchanpur district.

The pillar (783/4) was installed by a team led by Armed Police Force battalion 35 chief SP Bir Singh Sahu only a few days ago.

“The Nepali Congress cadres vandalised the pillar stating that the pillar was illegally installed on the Nepali side on Saturday. However, it was the Nepali side who had willingly installed the pillar based on the odd/even numbers,” Sahu said.

According to Sahu, the survey team is facing difficulty amid the growing border dispute in the area.
