Kathmandu, September 30
The Nepal women’s kabaddi team, which won a bronze medal at the 20th Asian Games held in Japan, has returned home.
The Nepali team arrived home via Thai Airways on Wednesday afternoon. It had been scheduled to return two days earlier, but its flight was disrupted by floods in Thailand, forcing the team to remain there.
A team led by National Sports Council Member Secretary Ram Charitra Mehta welcomed the players upon their arrival.
Nepal defeated Thailand and Sri Lanka to reach the semifinals and secure the bronze medal. However, Nepal lost to India in the semifinals.
The Nepali women’s kabaddi team had also won a bronze medal at the 19th Asian Games.
