The government of Nepal is receiving 30,000 litres of liquid oxygen from the Tibet autonomous region of China.

The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu says Tibet is also providing 800 filled oxygen cylinders, 10 oxygen concentrators, five ventilators, 200 ICU beds and 15,000 antigen kits to help Nepal fight the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The embassy claims this is the first time that a foreign country provided liquid oxygen to Nepal.

The consignment will come to Nepal via the Tatopani border point, it has been learned. The aid is expected to arrive in Kathmandu by the weekend.
