Kathmandu, April 11
Newly-appointed Nepal Police IG Prakash Aryal assumed office at midnight following a government decision to appoint him to the post late at night on Monday.
Aryal was conferred the insignia of his post at a programme organised at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Kathmandu. However, mediapersons were barred from attending the ceremony.
They were let in only after he was conferred the insignia. IG Aryal then went to the Police Headquarters and assumed his office.
