Nepal crash out of ACC Emerging Teams Cup

Kathmandu, March 28

Nepal have crashed out of the ACC Emerging Teams Cup being played in Bangladesh with a thumping defeat at the hands of the home side.

A day after Nepal were defeated by Pakistan U-23, the Rhinos won the toss and chose to field. Bangladesh U-23 managed to score 257 runs, despite losing their top three batsmen for cheap.

Nepal could muster only 174 runs in 42.3 overs as Bangladhesh bowled the whole squad out.

Opening batsman and wicket-keeper Dilip Nath, who played his first match for the senior squad, built a solid partnership of 98 runs with Dipendra Airee. But Nath (41) got out in the 30th over when Nepal’s score on the board was 144.  Nepal lost consecutive wickets for cheap after Nath’s departure.

Bangladesh’s Hossain played a match-winning knock of 109 runs and remained unbeaten.
