Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,442 new cases as only 6,731 samples tested

Kathmandu, November 18

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 212,917 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,442 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 1,038 are from the Kathmandu valley.

In this period, 6,731 swab samples were tested. So far, 1 million and 623,754 people have been tested in the country.

As of today, 28,878 cases are active currently. Among them, 2,457 are hospitalised and 26,421 are in home isolation.

Likewise, 326 are in intensive care units and 54 on ventilators.

Of the total cases so far, 182,780 people have achieved recovery whereas 1,259 died, according to the ministry. In the past 24 hours, 3,538 people have been discharged whereas 12 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is around 85.8 per cent.

Over 900 people are quarantined across the country.
