Nepal-China ties: Minister Wang calls for deeper cooperation in transport and energy

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said he hoped to carry out the consensus already reached by Nepal and China.

In a statement issued after Wang’s meeting with Nepal’s  Deputy Prime Minister Mahara, Wang said China hopes to deepen cross-border transport, trade and energy cooperation with Nepal.

The minister called on all political factions in Nepal to unite and promote stability. “China expects that all political forces in Nepal will strengthen unity and jointly advance Nepal’s peace, stability and development,” Wang said.

Deputy Prime Minister Mahara is in Beijing to meet senior Chinese officials in his role as Prime Minister Dahal’s special envoy to China.
