NCP secretariat, NC CWC meetings today

L-R: Sher Bahadur Deuba and KP Sharma Oli

Kathmandu, May 30

Two biggest political parties of the country are holding their internal meetings today to discuss contemporary political issues.

The ruling Nepal Communist Party is holding the secretariat meeting at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar whereas the main opposition Nepali Congress has scheduled its central working committee for the afternoon.

The NCP is discussing a recent dispute surfaced in the party over a few programmes proposed in the annual budget plan for the next fiscal year. Some leaders of the party have complained that the government included the projects related to the controversial Millennium Challenge Corporation deal in the budget.

Meanwhile, the main opposition Nepali Congress party is discussing the constitution amendment bill recently registered in Parliament.

The meeting is likely to decide to vote in support of the bill introduced to revise the national emblem as per the new political map of the country.
