NC CWC meet that couldn’t take place earlier likely today

Kathmandu, August 29

The main opposition Nepali Congress party could not hold its central working committee meeting on Wednesday afternoon as scheduled after its senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel reported some health problems.

The meeting is likely to be held at the central office in Sanepa of Lalitpur on Thursday afternoon, according to the party.

The meeting will discuss giving a new life to various sister organisations which have turned dormant after the terms of their executive committees have been over.

The party has 12 sister organisations, and terms of executive committees of most of these wings have been over. However, the party has failed to form ad hoc committees or hold conventions owing to internal disputes. It is likely that the CWC meeting will try to forge consensus among different factions to share the leadership positions.

Meanwhile, the meeting may also discuss launching the second phase of the national awareness drive.
