Kathmandu, June 14
Nawalparasi West’s Pratappur rural municipality chief Raj Kumar Sharma was killed in a jeep accident in the district on Sunday.
According to the district’s Chief District Officer Sagar Mani Pathak, Sharma was on his way to attend a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee when his vehicle crashed.
The jeep (Lu 1 Jha 370) fell off the Laxminagar Bridge at Bardaghat and into the stream. Sharma had sustained injuries and was rushed to Chisapani Hospital for treatment, where he was declared dead, Pathak adds.
Sharma’s colleague Hari Lal Rajbhar, who was also in the jeep, has sustained injuries. Pathak informs Rajbhar’s condition is normal.
