National technology festival @IOE, Pulchok on July 1-3

LOCUS, a society of students of Pulchok Engineering Campus, is organising a three-day National Technological Festival on the premises of Institute of Engineering in Pulchok, Lalitpur, on July 1-3.

The event themed Empowerment of Innovation will feature innovations and technologies that students of Nepal’s engineering colleges have developed. LOCUS has been organising the annual festival since 2003.

Bimal Paneru, event coordinator, said more than 70 of around 100 stalls will demonstrate the use of technologies. The festival will feature technologies developed in the fields like games and entertainment, industrial and automation, energy and society and other categories. Robots will be one of the attractions of the event. Paneru says the festival aims to bring out students’ potential by providing a platform.

Rasna Manandhar, press coordinator for the event, says the organisers expect around 30,000 people to visit the festival.

Developers of the technology adjudged the best will receive awards. Intercollege quiz contest will be another attraction of the festival. Manadhar says they will organise workshops by inviting experts.

One more attraction of the festival: Entry is free.
