‘National Digital Literacy Campaign’ has been launched for the digital transformation of hotels and restaurants. The ‘National Digital Literacy Campaign’ has been launched for the digital transformation of the hotel and restaurant sector in a programme organised by the Hotel Entrepreneurs Federation Nepal on the occasion of the 47th World Tourism Day.

TR Bhandari, president of the federation, informed that the aim of connecting hoteliers and restaurateurs of all seven provinces with digital technology and artificial intelligence is through the campaign, which will be conducted for one year. As part of the campaign, practical training on Google Business Profile, Google Maps, online booking, hotel management system, digital marketing, social media, customer review management and digital security will be conducted, he said.

In the programme, Dipendra Subedi, secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Transport, Industry and Labour of Bagmati province, expressed the commitment of the ministry to support the campaign, saying that it is necessary to increase the capacity of small and medium hoteliers and use technology. Naresh Lal Shrestha, vice president of the Federation of Nepal Industry and Commerce, expressed his commitment to cooperate in making the campaign nationwide. The campaign aims to connect hotels and restaurants in rural areas, highways and new tourist destinations with the digital market
