Narayangadh-Mugling road to close four hours a day

Chitwan, February 11

With road expansion going on, the Narayangadh-Mugling road section has been shut for all kinds of vehicles since 11 am on Thursday. The road section will be reopened at 3 pm. Vehicles have stopped at Mugling and Jugedi.

The road will close for four hours daily to facilitate construction work, engineer Shiva Khanal said.

Chitwan traffic police office said they will let emergency service vehicles pass every two hours. More than 8,000 vehicles ply this stretch every day. The narrow road is in bad shape, and is accident-prone.

In view of the road expansion work, westward-bound vehicles have been advised to ply Siddhartha Highway, while vehicles bound for the east have been asked to ply Tribhuvan Highway.

Construction work is on to turn the 34-km Aptari-Mugling road into a four-lane artery by April 2017.
