Kathmandu, September 27
The Narayangadh-Muglin road section has resumed operation after a landslide and mudflow blocking the Namsi Khola bridge were cleared.
Vehicles and freight carriers travelling between Narayangadh and Pokhara have started moving after the debris was removed from the road.
According to the Chitwan Division Road Office, a mud-laden landslide fell near the Namsi Khola at around 7:55am. Information officer and engineer Krishna Acharya said the road was reopened at around 12:15pm.
Vehicles travelling from Pokhara to Narayangadh and Narayangadh to Pokhara are now moving towards their destinations.

Meanwhile, continuous rainfall has triggered landslides at 11 locations along the Malekhu-Muglin section of the Prithvi Highway, disrupting traffic at several points.
Sachindra Mishra, information officer of the Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Project’s western section, said a landslide carrying mud and trees fell at Shitalbazar, while part of the road edge has also subsided.
Near Benighat Bazaar, a mud-laden landslide at Gomti Khola has reduced traffic to one-way operation. A landslide from above Krishnabhir has also blocked the road.
Mishra said rocks and mud have blocked the road at Jyamireghat and Chaukibhir, while smaller rockslides have occurred at several locations between Hugdi Khola and Jawang Khola.
Around 200 metres of road at three locations near Fishling has been covered by landslides carrying rocks, mud and trees. Around 30 metres of the road has also developed cracks, with about half of the road affected.
A rock-laden landslide has occurred at Chumlingtar, while around 50 metres of road has been damaged at two locations in Dharapani.
Work is underway to clear a blocked culvert in the area. Large rocks and mud have also blocked the road at Ghoptebhir and Simaldhara.
Mishra said teams are working to clear landslides at all affected locations. If there are no further major landslides, efforts are expected to clear the road and resume traffic by evening.
Equipment belonging to the contractor responsible for the road construction is being used to remove the landslide debris.
