Pokhara, July 29
A tragic school bus accident in Pokhara has resulted in the deaths of a mother and her young son. The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Aarti BK, an office assistant at LP Devkota Memorial School, and her approximately 5-year-old son, Prince BK. Prince succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Gandaki Medical College.
The accident occurred this morning in Kristi, Pokhara-21, when the LP Devkota Memorial School bus (registration number Ga 1 Kha 6219) carrying students veered off the road and plunged approximately 50 meters. Police reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.
A total of 28 people were injured in the incident. Kaski police spokesperson Basanta Kumar Sharma stated that the injured students are currently receiving treatment at Gandaki Medical College and Manipal Teaching Hospital.
