Monitors raid Angan’s Kamalpokhari outlet after newly promoted cop finds nail in his sweets

DIG Dev Bahadur Bohora found a human nail in a laddu bought from the Kamalpokhari outlet of Angan, on Tuesday, December 28, 2020.

Kathmandu, December 29

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday promoted nine senior superintendents of Nepal Police (SSPs) to the positions of deputy inspector-general (DIG).

One of them was Dev Bahadur Bohora. To celebrate his promotion, Bohora bought a packet of sweets from the Kamalpokhari outlet of Angan, a popular sweet shop in the capital. As he began distributing the sweets to his family members, he found a human nail in a laddu.

Infuriated, the promoted official immediately telephoned SSP Ashok Singh, the chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, and informed what happened.

Following that, Singh coordinated with the government’s Department of Food Technology and Quality Control, and raided the outlet.

The outlet’s operator Prakash Dotel has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
