One day after police arrested businessperson Manoj Pandey in connection with an eight-year-old rape case, they have received another complaint also on Sunday.
Kathmandu police chief SSP Sudeep Giri says an FIR has been filed against him as per the Act Relating to Children. In the complaint, an adolescent girl complained that Pandey has committed an offence against him.
Meanwhile, Giri says the police are yet to decide which law the police will use to file a case against Manoj Pandey in connection with the eight-year-old rape case as the statute of limitation permitted for a rape case has already been over.
“Once we proceed with the case, we should not make it as weak as it cannot be proved at court,” he says, “Therefore, discussions are still underway.”
