Police have arrested businessman Manoj Pandey who has recently been accused of rape in an eight-year-old incident.
A police team arrested him at Swayambhu of Kathmandu on Saturday, according to a police source.
The arrest of Manoj Pandey follows the Nepal Police headquarters commissioning a team to look into the case.
The case had come to the limelight after the survivor shared it on her TikTok this Wednesday.
Earlier on Friday afternoon, the House of Representatives had also directed the government to investigate the case that involved a beauty pageant organiser.
Activists and members of the public have also launched a movement to press the government for a fair investigation and action against the culprit.
