Kathmandu, November 26

Meteorologists have forecast that this year’s winter will be warmer and dryer than yesteryears.

A senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Metrology, Indira Kandel, tells Onlinekhabar that the temperature during the winter months (December to February) would be higher than the previous years.

“Our forecast states that there will be less rainfall in the country as well. But, the final report is yet to come out, after which we will be able to give out more details,” says Kandel.

Many are claiming that the temperature in November is colder as compared to the last year. However, meteorologists say that these are common occurrence as temperatures continue to change year on year.

The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu valley on Thursday was 5.6 degree centigrade.

“The maximum temperature has been going down for the past three to four days. But, the minimum temperature has been going down for the last two weeks. That is why the mornings have become colder,” says Kandel.
