After months, Melamchi water arrives in Sundarijal of Kathmandu

Kathmandu, April 19

The Melamchi water project is back in its operation after a gap of 10 months. The locals of Kathmandu will have to wait for the next few days to get water at the household level. entropay

The water fed to the tunnel from Melamchi Drinking Water Project in Helambu rural municipality of Sindhupalchok on April 12 arrived at Sundarijal, Kathmandu at about 10:00 pm Monday.

Now, it will take three to four days to fill up storage with the Melamchi water, according to an engineer at the consultant company for the project, Bibek Khanal.

The water could be noticed at the washing channel last night, which proved that the Melamchi water arrived at Sundarijal, he adds.
