The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday introduced newly appointed Nepal national football team head coach Guglielmo Arena to the media through a meet-and-greet program.
Arena had arrived in Nepal about a week earlier, and ANFA officially appointed him as the head coach of the Nepal national team on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Arena and ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, who also handed him the official appointment letter the same day. Arena has been appointed as Nepal’s head coach for one year.
Speaking publicly for the first time to journalists on Friday, Arena expressed his happiness about taking charge of the team.
“I am very happy to become the new head coach of the Nepal national football team,” he said at the start of the interaction.
During the discussion with journalists, he also shared his plans for Nepali football.
Arena said Nepali players have strong potential and that his goal is to increase the number of quality players.
“We have studied Nepali players. There are about 20 to 25 capable players. We want to increase that number and build a strong team for the future,” he said.
