Kathmandu, August 4
A Makalu Air plane en route to Simikot, Humla from Surkhet has crashed following an engine failure on Thursday afternoon.
According to officials, the plane, carrying two pilots, crashed within minutes of taking off from Surkhet at 15.47 local time.
Ghanashyam Karki, joint secretary at the Ministry of Tourism, said pilot Sangay Lama and co-pilot Prashana Shah were on board the plane. They have been airlifted to Kathmandu.
