MAD-Fest to begin on July 5

MAD-Fest

Kathmandu, June 19

Mandala Alumni Circle is organizing the Mandala Alumni Drama Festival (MAD-Fest) starting July 5 at Mandala Theatre, Thapagaun, Kathmandu.

According to the organizers, MAD-Fest is a celebration of theatre productions and programs developed and performed by the students of Mandala Theatre-Nepal’s various academic programs and training.

The three-day festival will feature six plays: Railway to Nowhere, Miror, Silpini, Nugdha, Agam, and Ankuran.

“All these plays were selected from an open call, where we received 18 submissions. Among them, our selection team of five members shortlisted eight plays,” says Anup Neupane, festival director. “Afterwards, those eight plays went through a workshop, and based on their design and viability, the final six plays were selected.”

Besides the plays, the festival will feature other events such as live music, poetry, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions.
