The Election Commission says it will make provisions to insure government officials who help in conducting the May 14 elections
Under the scheme, any personnel who sustains any injury will get money from insurance to cover his treatment cost. Election Commissioner, Narendra Dahal, who was speaking at a programme in Biratnagar to train over 120 polling officers said all civil servants and security personnel will be insured.
The commissioner said the commission has not changed its plan to conduct elections on May 14 throughout the country. He said that although the commission needed at least 120 days to prepare for elections, the government only gave it 83 days this time.
