Kathmandu, January 22
Nepal’s Prime Minister Prachanda says local elections will take place throughout the country within the second week of May.
The Prime Minister has also said his government will table a new amendment bill to make changes to the constitution to address the demands of the Madheshi Morcha.
Prachanda, who was speaking at a programme in the capital, said Parliament will pass election laws within within this week, as demanded by the Election Commission.
“The commission has said it wants 100 days to prepare for the elections, he added.
