Lamjung’s Sajan Gurung dies in the Russia-Ukraine war

Kathmandu, January 16

A young man from Lamjung who enlisted in the Russian army has passed away.

Durga Man Gurung, the Ward President of Ghamar Chowk, shared that 32-year-old Sajan Gurung from Dudhpokhri Rural Municipality-1, Ghamar Chowk in Lamjung, lost his life in the Russia-Ukraine war.

He informed Onlinekhabar that news of Sajan’s death, who had joined the Russian army for employment, was received five days ago. According to Durga Man, the friends who served in the Russian army alongside the deceased informed his brother, Kumar Gurung.

He mentioned that after Kumar, currently in Germany, relayed the news of his brother’s demise, the family had already performed the ritual on January 14.

Sajan was enlisted in the Russian army three and a half months ago. He is survived by his father, mother, wife, and a son.
