Kathmandu metropolis interrupts religious event in Shankamul held without permission

Religious event

Kathmandu, July 25

The Kathmandu metropolitan city has interrupted a religious event taking place at Doban in Shankhamul on Tuesday.

The city police reached Shankhamul based on the information that a religious festival was conducted in a public place without permission.

Dinesh Aryal, from the city police, stated that the organisers were directed not to proceed with the event after the police received a complaint that a religious program was being held without permission. Due to the obstruction of the city police, the religious festival was affected for a few hours.

The organisers, however, were adamant to continue the festival by seeking permission from the local ward office. After the ward gave the organisers permission, the city police returned.
