Kathmandu, April 28
At least 15 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the Panauti municipality of Kavrepalanchok district, around 35 km east of Kathmandu, apparently after attending a wedding reception.
After one of them had tested positive, other people who were in the person’s contact were tested for the virus, informs the town’s mayor Bhim Neupane.
Of the infected, two are elected local officials in ward 10 of the municipality. Hence, the ward office has been closed indefinitely.
The District Public Health Office Chief Dr Narendra Kumar Jha says the district recorded 50 new cases on Wednesday.
