Kathmandu DAO to remove petrol pumps operating against standard

Kathmandu, May 3

Kathmandu’s Chief District Officer Ram Prasad Acharya says that the District Administration Office will close down all petrol pumps operating against the standard set by the government.

Speaking at a discussion programme organised by the Metropolitan Traffic Police Sector, Kalanki on Friday, Acharya said the petroleum dealers operating next to public roads against the standard will be removed in a bid to improve the traffic system.

Metropolitan Traffic Police Division chief, SSP Basanta Kumar Panta, said the Division has implemented a three-month action plan aims to further systematise the traffic system in the Kathmandu Valley. ‘Pick and drop’ provisions are in place in the area around the Tundikhel and Koteshwor areas to deal with the issues of traffic congestion.
