Kathmandu bans indiscriminate use of pressure horn

Kathmandu, April 3

Kathmandu’s traffic police have banned the indiscriminate use of pressure horn to cut down on noise pollution in the city and to prevent drivers from over-speeding.

Under the new rule, which is to come into force on the first day of the Nepali New Year, April 14, drivers who disobey will be fined Rs 5,000.

According to the police, the rule will not apply to ambulances, fire engines and other emergency services.
