Kathmandu, March 27
Lack of preparation on the part of the Nepali side has delayed work on the Indo-Nepal petroleum pipeline project. Nepal Oil Corporation does not seem to be in any hurry to start laying the pipeline and other agencies are also not helping the cause.
Nepal Oil Corporation could not even present to the IOC, documents it wanted to kick-start the project even as the project has been given high priority. Simlarly, the EIA of the project has not been aprroved yet.
The IOC a few weeks ago wrote to Nepal saying that it has completed preperations on its part and it was ready to publish a tender notice withing 15 days. But as the Nepali side has not responded, India has also not started work on the tender process.
