Kathmandu, March 25
India’s new envoy to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Singh succeeds Ranjit Rae as the new ambassador. According to the Ministry Foreign Affairs, Singh will present his credentials to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Monday.
Before being assigned to Kathmandu, he was Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Prior to his stint in Brussels, he was Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations in New York from 2009 to 2013. He was a senior member of India’s Security Council team between 2011- 2012.
