Upendra Yadav, President of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, said on Friday it’s futile for Nepal’s PM to embark on a visit to India without resolving internal problems.

For several leaders, Delhi has become a means to come to power/topple governments. No one should misuse bilateral relations like this

For several leaders, Delhi has become a means to come to power/bring down governments, Yadav noted, adding that no one should misuse bilateral relations like this.

Amid reports that PM Dahal will head for the US to participate in a UN forum after visiting India, Yadav said: There’s no need for PM to attend the event. He can even send a minister or a lawmaker.

Even India will not take Nepal Prime Minister’s visit positively if he chooses to embark on a visit without bothering to resolve domestic issues, Yadav said at a Reporters’ Club’s face-to-face on Friday. He stressed that PM should first address domestic issues even by rescheduling his visit to India.

On the occasion, Yadav said: Let alone Constitution amendment, the government has not bothered to start implementation of a three-point agreement.  He added: I have heard that homework is on (to implement the deal), but don’t know where it is taking place.

Constitution amendment is Nepal’s internal matter, Yadav, also a former foreign minister, said, expressing belief that Nepal can sort out the issue on its own.
