India pulls out of SAARC summit, meeting likely to be postponed

Saarc

Kathmandu, September 28

India has pulled out of the summit meeting of SAARC countries scheduled to be held in Pakistan in November.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday, “” India has conveyed to current SAARC Chair Nepal that increasing cross-border terrorist attacks in the region and growing interference in the internal affairs of Member States by one country have created an environment that is not conducive to the successful holding of the 19th SAARC Summit in Islamabad in November 2016.”

With India pulling out of the meeting, it is almost certain that the even will be postponed until Indian and Pakistan agree on a date.
