Indefinite prohibitory order imposed in Pokhara

Kathmandu, September 8

The Kaski District Administration has imposed an indefinite prohibitory order in Pokhara Metropolitan City after Gen Z protests spiraled out of control.

According to the District Administration Office, the order came into effect from 2 pm Monday and will remain in place until further notice.

Officials said the measure was taken to prevent potential demonstrations, rallies, riots, and clashes triggered by the Gen Z movement.

The prohibitory order covers areas from Shahid Chowk eastward, northward to Milan Chowk, westward to Fistel Gate (Baidam), northward to the Land Revenue Office, and southward to Rastrabank Chowk (extending southwest to the Tourism Board office at Lakeside).

The administration has warned that anyone violating the order will face action in accordance with prevailing laws.
